Open Houses at The Advent School are intentionally scheduled during a school day to give prospective families the opportunity to see current Advent students authentically engaging in learning with their classmates and teachers.

On a tour of our Reggio-inspired elementary school, you’ll see vibrant, light-filled classrooms designed as “third teachers,” where materials are carefully arranged to spark curiosity. Student work is displayed thoughtfully, documenting learning as an evolving process. Natural elements, such as plants, wood, and outdoor learning spaces, invite children to connect with the world around them. Teachers and students collaborate at large tables, in cozy nooks, or outdoors, reflecting the value of relationships and community. You will see an atmosphere of inquiry, creativity, and respect—where children’s voices, questions, and ideas guide projects and shape the rhythm of the day.

Choosing the right school for your child can feel both exciting and overwhelming—but you don’t have to do it alone. On Saturday, September 27, from 10 AM to 12 PM, The Advent School will join more than 25 Boston-area PreK–12 independent and public schools at the Boston Area School Fair at Cambridge-Ellis School, located at 80 Trowbridge Street in Cambridge.

This is a wonderful chance to meet admissions representatives, ask your questions, and get a sense of what makes each school special. At Advent, you’ll discover a Reggio-inspired approach that nurtures curiosity, creativity, and academic growth—all within a warm and joyful community. We look forward to meeting you, sharing our story, and sending you home with plenty of resources (and some great swag, too!).

Advent is more than a school. It is a community of thoughtful, socially conscious learners, educators, and families. Join us on Thursday, April 10 anytime between 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. to connect with like-minded Boston parents over a glass of wine, explore our Beacon Hill campus, and experience first hand the unique magic of Advent.

This event is for parents of kids ages 8 and under who are curious about progressive education and are seeking to establish connections with other Boston-area parents committed to diversity and social justice.
