Advent’s Art Stroll returned to Beacon Hill on May 8-9!

The Art Stroll’s open house-style celebration extended beyond campus and onto Charles Street, where local businesses proudly showcased Advent student artwork in their storefronts and establishments. Families strolled through the neighborhood, admired the creativity of students in every grade, and experienced the excitement of seeing our young artists featured throughout the community.

The Advent School is grateful to Beacon Hill Books & Cafe, Charles Street Family Chiropractic, JP Licks, and Minni for displaying student work and making the Art Stroll a true community event!

Advent School Third Graders are exploring American history through the lens of marginalized communities. The African Meeting House is an incredible resource for our students, offering deeply enriching content just a short walk from our campus. Our students stand in the same room as Frederick Douglass, see an actual copy of one of the nation’s most influential abolitionist newspapers, The Liberator, and ask big questions, like “what does it mean to be free?”

Advent School students feel strongly that ALL kids should have the opportunity to visit the Museum of African American History. So when they learned that its federal funding had been cut, they sprang into action, using their collective voice to advocate for this important piece of Boston history.

Beacon Hill Times

The Advent School community dove into a night of celebration and generosity at its 2025 Fall Benefit, held last Friday at the New England Aquarium. More than 200 guests — including current and past parents, alumni, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends — raised an impressive $265,000 for the school.

Proceeds from the event will support Advent’s Teacher Championship Fund, Boston and Beyond field trip programming, Financial Aid resources, and other key initiatives. Together, these efforts strengthen the school’s mission to nurture bright minds, support exceptional teachers, and expand learning opportunities across Boston.

The evening was filled with joy, community spirit, and a touch of ocean flair. The Advent School extends heartfelt thanks to the Benefit Committee, event partners, and everyone who helped make the night a success!

The Advent School's second grade class has been studying Changemakers and Social Movements. They recently took a field trip to the African Meeting House, spoke from the same podium as Frederick Douglass and were hugely impacted by its rich history.
