Welcome to The Advent School

Letter from the Director of Enrollment

Dear families,

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions families make. We know the process of visiting and considering schools can feel both exciting and overwhelming, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

At Advent, we believe children learn best when curiosity, creativity, and joy are at the center of their experience. Rooted in a Reggio-inspired philosophy and grounded in academic rigor, our program challenges students to think deeply, collaborate meaningfully, and grow into confident, compassionate learners.

As you explore schools, we encourage you to reflect on two essential questions: How well does the school’s philosophy align with your family’s values and goals for your child’s education? And how well does the school’s approach nurture the unique strengths and sensibilities of your child as a learner?

The Advent admissions process is designed to help you consider these questions in thoughtful, supportive ways. We invite you to begin by attending an Open House or scheduling a visit—it’s an opportunity to see our classrooms in action and experience firsthand what makes an Advent education both joyful and rigorous.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Warmly,

Natacha Shillingford

Director of Enrollment (and parent to an Advent School Fourth Grader)
