Buddy Time!

This week was full of special moments, laughter, and connection during Buddy Time! Second Graders met up with their Fifth Grade buddies for an adventure to the Esplanade, while our ECC friends enjoyed a neighborhood stroll with their Sixth Grade buddies to admire the seasonal decorations around Beacon Hill. Meanwhile, Kindergarteners and their Third Grade buddies made the most of their time together, sharing the fun of recess!

At Advent, the Buddy Program is one of our most cherished and memorable traditions, bringing students together across grade levels to build friendships and strengthen our close-knit community. These relationships offer meaningful social-emotional benefits for students of all ages, helping younger children build confidence and feel a greater sense of belonging while giving older students opportunities to develop empathy, leadership, and communication skills.

Through shared adventures, everyday play, and simple moments of connection, our buddies learn from one another and create memories that last well beyond their time together at Advent.

In fact, the Buddy Program leaves such a lasting impression that Advent alumni often return to campus to watch their former buddies graduate from Sixth Grade! It’s a beautiful reminder that the connections students make here can stay with them for years to come.

Ask your child about their Buddy Time this week! Can they remember their buddy’s name? We hope you’ll hear a story or two about the friendships and fun that make this Advent tradition so special.
