Kindergarteners debut their original movie

The Blobbie Movie is here!

Kindergarten students were proud to share their original movie this week! Using story mapping strategies, they began developing the plot, characters and setting for their Blobbie movie. Taking turns, students helped bring the story to life by illustrating the two main settings: Blobbie’s castle and the forest where the adventure unfolds.

Using recycled materials, students made their own Blobbie character, and constructed the castle and the forest. They even wrote an original Blobbie song! (see below) This collaborative storytelling process reflects a Reggio-inspired approach to literacy — where imagination, dialogue, and artistic expression work together to help children develop their voices as authors and creators.

The creativity and teamwork in the classroom have been inspiring, and we can’t wait to see how the Blobbie story continues to grow!

The Blobbies are great! They’re kind, they’re smart, they’re strong, and brave.

From west to east, from north to south everywhere you go you find a Blobbie

A Blobbie is a friend to all; it helps you learn and grow big and strong.

Blobbie are our recycled materialed friends

who teach us how to think and share our big ideas.

We play with them throughout the day like when

we create a movie for people to watch and play.

The Blobbies are so great. We love the Blobbies hooray hooray.

The Blobbies are so great. We love the Blobbies hooray hooray.

Wherever you go the Blobbies are the best.

We love them so and hope you do too.
