Thankful for Advent, Thankful for You!
As the season of gratitude arrives, we asked our students a simple question: What are you thankful for about The Advent School? Their answers were thoughtful, joyful, and uniquely Advent.
Life on the Farm, Part 2: Building a Farm in First Grade
By integrating science, math, literacy, and creative problem-solving, this project allows first graders to investigate agriculture from multiple angles while building confidence as thinkers, makers, and collaborators. Their farms—and their learning—continue to grow!
Life on the Farm: Advent Students at The Farm School
Fifth and Sixth Graders have been busy exploring the science and social systems behind the food we eat—connecting biology, geography, and human stories. What better way to deepen their learning than with a stay at a real farm?
Codebreakers! Engaging Enrichment
In the Codebreakers enrichment class, our youngest students became detectives, using curiosity, collaboration, and critical thinking to crack a case brought to them by visitors from the Boston Police Department.
Math Moments
At The Advent School, math is both a creative exploration and a structured discipline. Grounded in the belief that children are natural problem-solvers and meaning-makers, Advent’s math curriculum blends the rigor of Everyday Mathematics—developed by the University of Chicago—with the Reggio Emilia philosophy of inquiry, collaboration, and hands-on discovery.
