Advent’s Art Stroll
On May 2 & 3, the Beacon Hill neighborhood was bursting with color and creativity. At Beacon Hill Books & Cafe, the Children’s Section housed Kindergarten’s The Garden We Grew With Our Eyes and Hands. In the front window of Minni, ECC’s Spinning Colors offered a cheerful welcome to shoppers. On the walls of J.P. Licks, Second and Fourth Grade’s Transportes de Comida drew the attention of ice cream enthusiasts.
And at Advent’s Brimmer & West Cedar campuses, students proudly showed their artwork to families. The displays spanned a variety of subjects and mediums: light painting, self portraits, artwork inspired by AI images, villages constructed from cardboard, shimmering Golden Trees of Life, introspective studies on shadows, and much more.
Most of all, it was a joyful celebration of art and community. Visitors contributed to collaborative art projects — such as the large You Matter display in the Movement Room. Families bid on Class Art during the weekend-long auction, and kids moved excitedly from room to room with their friends to see and support each other’s creations.
The annual Art Stroll is just one of the many ways that The Advent School celebrates its students, encourages community, and collaborates with its Beacon Hill neighbors.
