At Advent, we are educating the next generation of changemakers.

Advent provides students with the necessary skills and tools to thrive in our complex world.

There are several ways you can fund our mission and vision, ensuring an Advent education remains possible for children and families in Boston.

Contact Washawn Jones, Director of Development, to discuss the impact, timing, or allocation of your family’s gift.

The Advent Fund

Our competitive tuition only covers a portion of each student’s educational and administrative expenses. Beyond bridging the tuition gap, Advent’s commitment to a rigorous curriculum and experiential learning requires additional funds. We strive for 100% participation in The Advent Fund each year from our current community of Trustees, faculty, staff, and families. Gifts of all sizes matter and make a difference in our ability to provide more opportunities for our students, faculty, and the Advent community.

Gifts to the Advent Annual Fund are used for unrestricted operating support. Advent Annual Fund gifts may be allocated to the following current-use, budget-relieving areas:

  • Financial Aid: As the wealth gap widens, gifts to the Financial Aid Fund are necessary to ensure that all families interested in an Advent education can attend. Diversity of economic background, race, and religion in our student body is still as vital as it was nearly 60 years ago. A gift to the Financial Aid Fund supports equity and diverse voices at Advent.

  • Professional Development: Leading by example, our faculty and staff are lifelong learners committed to a growth mindset. Gifts supporting Professional Development ensure that Advent faculty and staff can access training and resources to help them thrive in their role at the school.

Participation in the Advent Annual Fund affirms your belief in Advent students to change the world and symbolizes your collective investment in the School’s excellence.

Rev. Robert C. Day Financial Aid Fund

Rev. Robert C. Day P’77’79’82 was Advent’s second head of school. He served the community for 30 years, from 1965 until his retirement in 1995. While his legacy includes building Advent’s first playground and founding the library, Rev. Day’s family shared that he also left a legacy of compassion. He valued “the idea of integration and creating opportunities for each child, and the idea of the collective being greater than the individual.”

Gifts to the Rev. Robert C. Day Financial Aid Fund are restricted funds that are added to this endowed fund. Donating to this fund helps the School to offer financial assistance to those families who need it most for years to come. On the other hand, a Financial Aid designation on an Advent Fund gift is a current-use, budget-relieving gift that is not added to the Rev. Robert C. Day Financial Fund endowment but is used the year it is received.
