Diversity and Social Justice
The Advent School is passionately committed to diversity and social justice. Our student body reflects the ethnicities, socio-economic backgrounds, family structures, and neighborhoods of Boston; while our diverse faculty is responsive to the students we serve.
Each of us believes in the power of individual difference, including one’s heritage, language, and experiences. Within the context of a supportive classroom setting, we empower every child to teach us about his or her uniqueness and share his or her skills and talents.
Our curriculum is carefully crafted to reflect contemporary issues and world cultures. Learning about life on every continent and listening to the voices of all peoples, Advent students respect different points of view and dig deep into issues of environmental sustainability and social justice.
Recognizing that our world needs courageous leaders, we help children to understand their ability to challenge injustice and inequities. We take pride in our graduates, who have the confidence to take action and make social change.
In all aspects of life at The Advent School, we seek to create a community unified in its respect for one another. Acknowledging that this is not easy work, we continue to teach our children to build a better world.
