The Advent School kicked-off its 50th Anniversary year by giving a “tall“gift to The Friends of the Public Garden. More than two hundred students along with their teachers headed to the Boston Public Gardens to plant a Princeton Elm tree to honor five decades of unprecedented leadership in educating children and inspiring teachers in Boston.
The tree symbolizes Advent’s deep roots in the Beacon Hill neighborhood, our reverence for the beauty that is uniquely Boston, and speaks to our growth from 1961 to today.

“While I’ve been at Advent I’ve have learned to be a friend and how to be a
good sport. But most important I learned how to be kind, compassionate, a
hard worker, and myself.” – Advent School Sixth Grader
“At Advent I have learned to value my friends and value my teachers, who
have encouraged me to go out of my comfort zone. Both of these values are
important to me.” – Advent School Sixth Grader
“One of the most important values I learned at Advent is knowing what’s
happening outside the country. I think that is a great quality of the
school.” – Advent School Sixth Grader
“At Advent we talk about how we can help change the world, what we can do to
help others, how to be hard working, and give others the same respect you
hope to get from them. By doing this we can make the world a better place
to live in.” – Advent School Sixth Grader
Afterwards, everyone enjoyed birthday cupcakes. It was truly a magical experience for all!
