Science and Technology

Our Science curriculum, driven by the Massachusetts State Frameworks, invites children to explore and acquire skills in the areas of life, earth, environmental, and physical sciences. Two Science teachers, one a naturalist, the other trained in Physical Science, teach children to observe, hypothesize, collect, and organize data. Whether in our newly designed Earth Lab or out in the field, students are actively immersed in investigations.

Advent’s partnership with the nearby Museum of Science provides us with access to an extraordinary collection of resources. Within easy walking distance from the School, the Museum creates endless opportunity for learning. We believe that helping to create young scientists and teaching children to be caretakers of their environment are critical to the preservation of the Earth.

“What is absolutely unique [about the Advent School] is the judgment, creativity, and developmental attention with which its rich multi-cultural program has been constructed. If any school will underscore and illuminate the opportunity and challenge with which multi-cultural education can be considered, this fine, small, humane scholarly little school can do it for us all.”
