Volunteering
Parent volunteers are welcome to participate in many aspects of school life. Parents can volunteer to join a committee, accompany their child’s class on a field trip, help out in the library, seek donations for the Spring Benefit, give tours of the School, or simply stuff envelopes. Approximately 90 percent of Advent parents volunteer at least once during the school year.
Additionally, there are often volunteer opportunities within the framework of the Parents Committee. Proposed projects for this year include: the bulb project, Julie’s Family Learning Program for the holidays, and long-term projects with the United South End Settlement. Other Parents Committee events include an all-school skating party in March and a bake sale in May.
