Summer Programs
Advent is offering two summer sessions in 2007.
LearningBOSTON:
All Aboard! Learning Boston via the MBTA
June 18-22 / 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
June 25-29 / 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This summer The Advent School offers children a chance to learn about Boston’s transportation system, the MBTA. Children will study the “T’s” history, collect data, investigate ways by which the “T” supports environmental sustainability, and map local journeys.
They will document their experiences on the “T” through photographs and written reflections. Applying skills in math, science, and research, children will learn at local libraries and around town, visiting both historical and cultural landmarks on the Red, Green, Blue, and Orange lines.
LearningBoston is open to First through Sixth Grade students. Students may enroll for one or both weeks.
