Early Childhood Center

The Advent School Early Childhood Center (ECC) offers a program inspired by the innovative approach of Italy’s Reggio Emilia pre-schools, where children learn to become reflective problem solvers at a young age. In keeping with the philosophy of our elementary program, teachers integrate all areas of the curriculum and encourage in-depth learning experiences.

In the ECC, a small class of students comes together in a nurturing, collaborative environment within the context of our elementary school setting. ECC teachers design learning experiences that are responsive to student interests and involve exploration and expression through the arts.

Recognizing that children naturally make connections, ECC teachers help their students develop and sustain in-depth learning experiences and provide space for projects to emerge and evolve over time.

"Our son blossomed during his year in the ECC. We were thrilled by the individualized attention and guidance he received. The focus on social and emotional growth, as well as skill development, was terrific. It was a joy to see him bounding into the classroom every day, before he even took off his coat — he couldn't wait to see everyone and dive into the day's adventures."
