Spanish
Children at The Advent School begin their Spanish language study in their Kindergarten year. By Second Grade students are meeting in half groups, twice a week, with Advent’s Spanish teacher, a native speaker from Venezuela.
All Spanish classes interweave original games, hands-on, and interactive learning, and set children on a path to a mastery of everyday-life vocabulary. In Third Grade, Advent students begin to read and write, applying the rich vocabulary they have acquired.
Each year the entire school community participates in a Spanish cultural study, culminating in a week-long student sharing, by class and topic area. Parents and outside talent offer specialized workshops to enrich the School’s celebration.
