Welcome to The Advent School. Founded in 1961 on the principles of social justice, the School takes pride in the exceptional education we offer children. Interweaving skill instruction and in-depth thematic study, we believe that teaching children within a meaningful historic, cultural, and environmental context builds confident students able to make robust connections in their learning.
The City of Boston provides a critical advantage for Advent students. With the myriad resources of the city at our doorstep, the Advent faculty design lesson plans that are focused on learning through firsthand experience. Whether discovering at the Museum of Science, observing at the Museum of Fine Arts, or exploring natural or cultural sites in and around the city, Advent children encounter the world around them as an extension of the classroom.
We invite families to visit our school. Advent is a close-knit community that recognizes that children are the future architects and stewards of our world. By preparing them to apply their academic skills and have the confidence to give voice to their values, we believe that they will forge the way to a better world.
